Automatic change of items status on import of bib to XXX30

Description:
Is it possible to automatically change the item status of an item when one imports it into XXX30 from XXX01?

As it stands, one finds the item, associates it to a course, then has to manually go and change the status from 01 to 03 for example. We would like to have a default item status of 03 once an item has been assigned to a course.

Resolution:
I don't think this ability exists -- and I think there could be some complications....

What if there are items in three different locations for this title? Would you always want all of the items to be put on Reserve, or are there cases where only certain item(s) would go onto Reserves and others would not?
