    Problem Symptoms:
Since we switched to v20 in August, some circulation PCs have run into a problem of barcodes and barcode numbers not printing on hold request slips and in-transit slips. When we compare the CarolinaBar fonts with a machine that is printing the barcodes correctly, we don't see any differences. So what would cause this to be happening only on some PCs?

( When IE9 installed, supplied barcode fonts were not displayed in print preview and not printed if NewPrintType=N.)

    Cause:

    Resolution:
    rep_change 3681 (Aleph 20):

New barcode fonts should be used. Aleph SP contain IE9 barcode fonts installation program - FontsIE9.EXE. This program install new Carolina barcode fonts for IE9.

    Implementation Notes:

    When using IE9:

    1. To install the new fonts - use Version Check option in the GUI to download the file .\alephcom\bin\FontsIE9.EXE and run it from its location as windows 7 administrator.
Note: Installing it with a user that belongs to the administrator group might suffice. This has be done with *the* administrator user.

    2. Replace "old" font names by new Carolina fonts names. For example, in file funcs-split.xsl:
    replace
    <td STYLE="font-family=CarolinaBar-B39-2.5-22x158x720;"> // old font name by <td STYLE="font-family=CarolinaBar-B39-25G0;"> // new font name

    3. Run util/i/6.

    4. Reconnect to Library.

    Additional Information

If few PCs have switched to IE9 and few still use older version of IE ?€“ see KCS item number 16384-55874
