    Bib record creation date

    • Article Type: Q&A
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Question

    Does Aleph store the date a bib record was created and if so where?

    Answer

    Aleph stores the bib creation date in both the oldest bib record CAT field and in the z13_open_date. Thus,

    * In the GUI, while in a bib record, click on "Edit Actions", and then "View Record's Catalogers";

    * In batch services, use the expand_doc_open_cat, as described in Article 000018982 ("p_print_03: how to include record creation date")

    * In SQL, select the xxx01.z13_open_date.

    Additional Information

    If large numbers of CAT fields are generated for certain records, the manage-13 service ( Delete "CAT" Fields) can be used to delete the older ones. (It automatically saves the oldest, the creation-date CAT field.)
