Call numbers not sorting correctly in p_item_05, p_item_04, and GUI search.

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 17.01

    Description:
p_item_04 and p_item_05 are producing reports that do not sort the call number correctly. When there is a double cutter in the lc call number it shows it as misshelved which is an error. Dewey numbers also are not sorting correctly.

The GUI search has the same problem.

    Resolution:
    The z30_call_no_key's are not correct.

Please update the xxx50/tab/tab_filing_call_no entry for 0 to look like this:

    0 L del_subfield
    0 L to_blank ^&()-[]<>?,/
    0 L lc_call_no
    !0 L add_call_no_type
    0 L pack_spaces

And the entry for 1 to look like this:

    1 L del_subfield
    1 L dewey_call_no
    !1 L add_call_no_type
    1 L pack_spaces

[Note: The inclusion of "add_call_no_type" is optional. There are minor pros and cons on each side.]

And then run p_item_06 to regenerate the z30_call_no_key's.

For the GUI search, the LC and Dewey routines in the xxx01 tab_filing should be similar to the preceding (except that the add_call_no_type should *not* be included).

Note: The usm50/tab/tab_filing_call_no has been updated to look like the preceding.
