Can’t create HOL record: “Server failed to execute request after 60 seconds”

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
Getting error “Server failed to execute request after 60 seconds” when trying to create HOL record via “Load/Create Record”.

Same error when trying to create HOL record directly in xxx60, like this:

connect with the GUI Cataloging client to abc60
    click on Open Template icon
create an HOL record and save it to the server

    Resolution:
Though the util g/2 last-doc-number is 002917953, and is incremented with each attempt to create a new HOL record, SQL shows that the max(z00_doc_number) is 002917942.

This abc60 doc record has an LKR field linking it to an abc30 Course Reserve record:

    LKR L $$aHOL$$lABC30$$b000000006

And I find -- though we are able to update/delete other records -- we are unable to delete this record using GUI Cataloging or SQL (it hangs).

We ran p-ret-01 and p-print-03 in abc60 to export the doc records. When we tried to drop z00 in abc60, we got an Oracle error. Oracle restart allowed me to drop the z00 table in abc60 and reload HOLs in aleph seq format.

[Note: It may be that the Oracle restart might have eliminated the preceding problems as well -- if it had been done first.]
