Circulation" button says: "BIB document has ITM link, Create ADM anyway?"

    Description:
When we use the "Find" function in Circ Client to search Reserves (xxx30 library), we are able to pull up appropriate records, but when we click Circulation button to view the loan status, we get this error message: "BIB document has ITM link, Create ADM anyway?"

This happens for both items already cataloged in SDB's collection and items that faculty bring in for us to put on reserve.

Are we missing a step in our Reserves process?

    Resolution:
As described in KB 8192-3607, there are two kinds of item links: ADM and ITM. In the case of xxx30 Course Reserve, when the record is directly connected to the xxx50 (that is, not connected through a bib record), that is an ADM-type link; when the connection *is* through a bib record, that is an ITM-type link.

I find that this message appears when the xxx30 doc record is linked to a SYS01 bib record. This appears as a "Linked Doc" field with a sys01 number in the bottom panel of the Brief List.

In the case of an item which is already cataloged:
If you know what course the item is connected to, the item should be accessed through Admin -> List of Courses -> Course Doc List -> Items tab -> Circ items.
If you don't know what course the title is connected to, then you will need to do the Find, note the course, and then look
at the Admin -> List of Courses, as described in the preceding.

In the case of an item the faculty member is bringing in for you to put on reserve, select the course from the Admin -> "List of Courses", then Course Doc List, then "Catalog New". (You don't need or want to use the "Find".)
