Creation of Logical Base Based on 4 Collection Locations (Not Sublibraries)

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 19.01

    Description:
We would like to create a logical base composed of 4 of our collection locations (NC, NCJUV, NCREF and NCAVM). Bear in mind that these are not separate sublibraries, only 4 collection locations within our single ABCLB sublibrary. Can this be done and, if so, how?

    Resolution:
The abc01 tab11_word shows that the LOC $$c field (the Collection) is being sent to the WCL word index:

    LOC## c 03 WCL

so adding the following line to $alephe_tab/tab_base.eng:

    NCCOLL NC-Collections ABC01 USM01 ABC01 Y wcl = (NC or NCJUV or NCREF or NCAVM) not wst=suppressed

    should accomplish what you need.

    To test the change:

    1. stop/restart ue_01

    2. resend several bib records connected to holdings with these collections to the server.

    3. restart the www_server

    4. add the "NCCOLL" (or whatever code you use) to ./www_f_eng/base-list-abc01.

If this seems satisfactory, then run p_manage_32, specifying

    Procedure to Run: Update Counters

Logical Base: NCCCOLL <or whatever code you use>
