Default sort of brief results in different bases

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph

    Desired Outcome Goal:
How can we set a different default sort as specified in www_server_defaults? Can we somehow specify a different default sort for another base (i.e. xxx30)?

    Procedure:
The default sort code is specified as the setenv www_sort_field value in $alephe_root/www_server_defaults. This applies to *all* libraries/bases in the system. It looks like this: setenv www_sort_field "01---D02---A" *But* since sort "01" can mean different things in different libraries (the xxx30/tab/tab_sort can be different than the xxx01/tab/tab_sort) then you can make the default sort you want in each library sort "01" and it will work.

    Additional Information

Standard sorting from table xxx01/tab/www_tab_short.lng, column 4 is only active when you click on the according heading link in OPAC.
    1 L Title 02---A01---A S ## 245##

If you have made any changes on xxx01/tab/tab_sort running "Update Sort Index (manage-27)" afterwards is required to create the new sort keys
