Question    
What are the expected benefits of moving the patron name from one field z303_name into two fields z303_last_name and z303_first_name in version 22? For example, will there be a way to specify first or last name when searching the patron file?
 

Answer    
The purpose of this enhancement requested by the user groups is to be able to separate first and last name for display purposes in GUI only. There is no possibility to specify first and last name during searching or indexing.
 

Additional Information

Currently there are no additional development regarding the splitted name fields in the Aleph roadmap.
Also splitting the name-field will not have any benefits during later migration to Alma.
