Local script gets: "ERROR: Library SASUSER does not exist. FATAL: Unable to initialize the options subsystem."

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
csh script running SAS jobs from the job_list gets the following errors:

ERROR: Library SASUSER does not exist.
FATAL: Unable to initialize the options subsystem.
ERROR: (SASXKINI): PHASE 3 KERNEL INITIALIZATION FAILED.
UNABLE TO INITIALIZE THE SAS KERNEL

but, if run manually (from the Unix command line), it runs fine.

    Cause:
    Uncertain

    Resolution:
Solved locally: Moved the "$HOME/sasuser.v91" directory out of the way so it would be re-created the next time the script ran. After doing this and also restarting the batch job daemon, everything is now OK.

    Additional Information

The following appears in the $alephe_scratch/jobd.log: Performing Jobs: ---------------- /exlibris/aleph/u20_1/sny_scripts/plif/sas/runplif.csh The "runplif.csh" which is being executed is a local script.
