Non-filing Indicators Not Working for Browse Index

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
To search the OPAC for Course Reserve books, we need to add the definite articles (a, the, an, etc.) to search.
For example, in the OPAC xxx30 library if you search for "Sociology of personality", there are no hits.
If you search "The sociology of personality" the book is found.

    Resolution:
The ./xxx30/tab/tab11 entries for the TTL index correctly specify indicator 2 as a non-filing indicator, but the ./xxx30/tab/tab00.eng column 5 specifies '01' as the filing routine to be used for the TTL index, while the tab_filing routine 01 does not include a line for "non_filing".
Therefore, the tab11 non-filing value is not going to be used. You need to change the ./xxx30/tab/tab00.eng column 5 to '11'. (tab_filing routine '11' *does* include a non_filing line.)
And then re-run p_manage_02 for the xxx30 library.
Running this for a Course Reserve library typically takes 5-10 minutes.

    Additional Information

course reserve, non-filing indicators, definite articles
