OWN field value - where does it come from?

Question
From where / which field is the value for the OWN field taken? When creating a new record it shows "PUBLIC" but it is expected to hold a more personal value.
Answer
The value is taken from the staff privileges, record for the according user, field "Cat. OWN ID". Add there the code you want to see in the OWN field. If the field is empty "PUBLIC" will be displayed.
