    Question

When an item renewal is attempted in Primo, is there a circ pre-check which would display 'Not renewable' to the user instead of 'Renewable' when the due date of the renewal would be the same as the current due date?

    Answer

There's no pre-check to see whether the due date can be extended. This check occurs only when the renew is actually attempted. If the circ programs find that the due date for this otherwise-renewable item is the same as the current due date, they issue this message.

    Additional Information

The text of the message displayed in Primo (0015 in the ./error_eng/dlf_global file) could be changed from:

0015 Due date cannot be extended

    to, for instance:
0015 Loan cannot be renewed (no change in due date)

to make the message better understandable.
