Preventing circulation holds using tab16 col. 13

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Desired Outcome Goal:
    * A number of sublibraries use item status of 42 for a 4 week loan and allow holds
    * One sublibrary would like to prevent holds of being placed
    * The libraries share one entry in ./xxx50/tab/tab15.lng
    * column 8 ("Hold request") in ./xxx50/tab/tab15.lng is set to 'Y'
    * ./xxx50/tab/tab16 has '000' in column 13 ("Max no. of hold requests") for sublibrary not allowing holds (ABCDE)

Is there a way to prevent the holds for the one library without creating a new item status ( e.g. "4 weeks no holds") or a new section of tab15 with N in column 8?

    Example
    ./xxx50/tab/tab15.lng
    XXX15 42 ## L Four Week Loan Y Y Y N Y Y N Y Y 00 N

    ./xxx50/tab/tab16
    ABCDE 42 ## ## + 00000028 06 A 2359 0000 00100 999 000 2 000 000 00 10.00 000 0

    Procedure:
./xxx50/tab/tab16, column 13 ("Max no. hold requests") is active only if one of the following is set in ./xxx50/tab/tab_hold_request:

Add one of the below checks to prevent the hold requests
    check_hold_request_h
    check_hold_request_q
    check_hold_request_t

    Additional Information

check_hold_request_h is at the level of the individual tab16 line.
check_hold_request_q is at the sublibrary level.
check_hold_request_t is at the ADM library level.
