We have received these errors in trying to do an ALEPH/Oracle back-up:

RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on ch4 channel at 02/06/2006 10:36:38
ORA-19502: write error on file "CUNY1641", blockno 50015233 (blocksize=512)
ORA-27030: skgfwrt: sbtwrite2 returned error
ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer, error text:
ANS1017E (RC-50) Session rejected: TCP/IP connection failure

What might be causing this?

Resolution:
This error usually indicates no more space in the tape or communication disconnection between the tape device and the server.
