    Restoring records deleted by p_manage_33

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 15.2

    Description:
    How can we rollback the results of manage_33 from today?
    By mistake ret_01 produced the file of records:
    setenv p_doc_number_from "000318663"
    setenv p_doc_number_to "999319368" (instead of "000319368").
    And these records (after 319368) were deleted by manage_33.
    ]

    Resolution:
    The only way to do this would be to restore versions of the abc01 z00, abc50 z00, and zbc60 Oracle tables from before today. That would, basically, mean restoring *all* of the Oracle tables from before today. If you have someone there who could do that, you may want to consider it.

    Otherwise, the records which came from RLIN could be reprocessed by finding the range in the /sr/u52_5/abc01/rlin_output_dir/ , moving them to the ./rlin_input_dir and reprocessing them.

    In the future, you may want to take the file you are planning to use as input to p_manage_33 and first use it as input to p_print_03 to save the records which will be updated into a sequential file. That way, they will be available for restore (loading by p_manage_18), should it be necessary.

    Additional Information

    manage 33, restore
