    1. Additional Information
    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 21

    Problem Symptoms:
The following error occurs in performing an SQL command:
    xxx01@ALEPH21> > select index_name from all_indexes where owner = 'USM01' <etc.>
SP2-0734: unknown command beginning "> select ..." - rest of line ignored.

    Cause:
The ">" preceding the select was incorrectly included in copying/pasting this command.

    Resolution:
Copy just the command itself (beginning with the "select"). Do *not* include the preceding ">".

    Additional Information

The ">" is the final character in the "xxx01@ALEPH21>" prompt. But in this SQL command there is a second ">" preceding the "select index_name":
    xxx01@ALEPH21> > select index_name from all_indexes where owner = 'USM01' <etc.>
