    Serials bar: "Error parsing find request" for title

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
    With the Title search in the serials bar, the error is "Error parsing find request". The pc_server log shows:.
    SERVICE : C1011.
    MODULE : OPAC Services.
    DESCRIPTION: Send Find Request.
    ACTION : PROGRAM : pc_sear_c1011.
    str_in=(TIT = (AMERICAN LIBRARIES)).
    illegal term.
    aleph_ccl_expr_check_tree_c - illegal expr.
    aleph_ccl_expr_check_tree_c failed.
    aleph_ccl_expr_build_normal_tree_c failed. What does this mean?

    Resolution:
    Since this site has a "TTL" index instead of a "TIT", changing the "BIB-TIT" in the ./xxx50/tab/pc_tab_exp_field.eng SERIAL-SEARCH and ORDER-SEARCH to "BIB-TTL" should work. This eliminated the error but gave "no records found" on all searches. (This may have been because AUTO-TRUNCATE-Z01-FIND is set to "N" and we were not including "?".)
    Changing it to "BIB-WTI" worked.
