    Unable to Create a New GUI User

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
    When I try to create (or duplicate) a new user, the system pops-up a message:

    Unable to go to Position: 0 in PrivilegeUpdate

    And there is another message on the bottom of the "Staff Privileges" Window, saying:

    Error 0300 Not defined for Service C0602 New in file ... ".

    Resolution:
    When I initially connected to your (Prod) server and tried to create a new staff user, I was seeing the same problem that you describe.

    The problem is that the client has not been updated with the new GUI xxxx.exe files for your current Service Pack.

    After making the following change in my alephcom.ini file:

    [VersionControl]
    Library=USM01 (This could be *either* ABC01 or USM01, just so the library is pointing to your server in library.ini)
    Minimize=N
    Type=sp_exe <--- If this is blank, change it to "sp_exe"

    and clicking on \ALEPHCOM\BIN\version.exe and then clicking on "All" (to bring all the modules shown to my pc), I was able to successfully create a new user. [Note: \ALEPHCOM\BIN\version.exe is valid for version 16 only. See KB 8192-3031 for version 17-up.]
