Unable to change the OPAC text relating to RENEW-INFO

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 19.01

    Description:
    The documentation contains this information:

RENEW-INFO – This routine is used to add renew limit information. The information that may be added includes the limit on the total number of renewals and the limit on the renew period. The translate routine uses texts from the aleph_error_lng/circ_renew_heading_renew_info file. For example:

    z36-no-renewal RENEW-INFO S z36-rec-key

Making changes to this file doesn't affect the OPAC.

    Resolution:
    The documentation should read

RENEW-INFO – This routine is used to add renew limit information. The information that may be added includes the limit on the total number of renewals and the limit on the renew period. The translate routine uses texts from the $aleph_root/error_lng/circ_renew_heading_renew_info file for the GUI modules and $aleph_root/error_lng/www_f_heading for the Web OPAC.

The default lines contained in $aleph_root/error_lng/ are:
    9660 L $1 (out of $2).
9661 L $1 (no limit on number of renewals).
9662 L No limit on latest due date.
    9663 L Latest due date is $1.

Note that if the files (or the specific lines within the files) do not exist in $alephe_root/error_lng they will be read from $aleph_root/error_lng.

For more information on error_lng vs error_eng and $alephe_root/error_lng vs $aleph_root/error_lng please see KB 16384-6945.
