    Description:
We tested the Initiator - Create Hold action and found that this function puts a hold on the patron record at the time of order. When the item we tested arrived, we followed it through the arrival, payment, and cataloging processes but found that we were never prompted by a hold slip or some other notice that there was a hold on the item. Is there supposed to be such a prompt about the hold?

I see that there is another Initiator action of Send Mail and that that function generates an Order Arrival Message for the Initiator at the time of arrival. This action, however, does not initiate a hold.

    Resolution:
The Hold won't be flagged up unless the item is scanned in as a "Return". This should be added to the workflow.

[Site responds: " We would not naturally consider scanning the item as a "Return" in the circ module when it has just arrived and been cataloged. Unless we want to "Return" all new items at time of cataloging we would probably need to create a library note on the order that helps us identify new acquisitions with holds on them. The library note would help us know that we need to "Return" that item. "]
