Using GUI Cataloging to retrieve abc60 HOL records

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
We have been running p_ret_01 in abc60 to retrieve the doc numbers of new abc60 HOL records, but find it takes quite a while. Is there any faster alternative?

    Resolution:
I have run p_manage_01 in abc60 to index the HOL Creation date and the sublibrary....

    Addition to abc60/tab/tab_expand:

    WORD expand_doc_open_cat

    Addition to abc60/tab/tab00.eng:

    H WCT W-002 00 03 W-Creation date
    H WSL W-003 00 03 W-Sublibrary

    Addition to abc60/tab/tab11_word:

    CDATE c 01 WCT
    852## b 01 WSL

Addition of "last-word-number" as an abc60 z52 parameter (as seen in util g/2):

    5. last-word-number 0 S

Addition of z970 and z980 entries to abc60/file_list. See KB 16484-44609.

And have added WCT and WSL to the abc60 pc_tab_sear.eng as searchable fields:

FI ABC60 L HOL Creation date WCT
    FI ABC60 L Sublibrary WSL

To see this, you will need to connect with the Cataloging GUI to *ABC60* (rather than ABC01) and do "Find", specifying one or both of these indexes. The date needs to be in yyyymmdd form. You could specify “201206?” to get all June records or “2012062?” to get records created since June 20.

After retrieving this set of records, you can do "Save". This will create a file of record numbers in $alephe_scratch, such as the following, with the name that you specify:

    000000001ABC60
    000000002ABC60
    <etc.>

(Note: though this file name appears on the submission screen in uppercase, the file created is actually in lowercase and when specifying the file name in the p_print_03 submission it needs to be in lowercase.)

See KB 16384-47489 for related p_print_03 issues.
