    Description

What does the Data Export Consent value in the z303 patron record do? Does it have any functional implications? (We are looking for a field to indicate patrons for our opt-in-circ-history program, and wanted to be sure that it wouldn't cause problems elsewhere.)

    Resolution

Looking through the Aleph programs, we don't find any that use the Z303-EXPORT-DATA-CONSENT variable. The value of the variable *is*, of course, displayed in the global patron record in the GUI.

I hypothesize that some customer wanted to have a value for this variable for each patron to decide if export should be permitted in running some local script .
