    cir-51 fails to print notices for Lost items

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
    cir-51 ("Overdue and Lost Billing Summary Letter") produces notices for overdue items and ready-to-be billed Lost items, but doesn't produce bills for already-billed Lost items.

    Cause:
    Job performing as specified and designed.
    cir-51 looks for z36 (Loan) records with z36_status "A" only. If the z36_status of the record is "L", that is, it has already been declared Lost and the patron has been billed, cir-51 ignores the record.

    Resolution:
    Use cir-50 ("Overdue and Lost Billing Notices") to print notices for loans which are already in a Lost status.

    Additional Information

    cir-51 looks for z36 (Loan) records with z36_status "A":
    * If the relevant xxx50 tab32 line is "O" (and the p_letter_type in the submission is "O" or "A"), cir-51 prints an overdue notice;
    * If the relevant xxx50 tab32 line is "L" (and the p_letter_type in the submission is "L" or "A"), cir-51 prints a Lost bill.
