    item-hold-request-details, Variable $0500

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
When a patron creates a hold in the OPAC, the following confirmation is displayed:

Item has been requested for pickup at <pickup sublibrary>. Future dev.

Where does the 'Future dev.' come from?

    Cause:
$aleph_root/error_lng/www_f_heading was copied to $alephe_root/error_lng/www_f_heading and not adapted after the Service Pack.

    Resolution:
The local file $alephe_root/error_eng/www_f_heading contains wrong entries.

    $alephe_root/error_lng/www_f_heading:
    9084 L Future dev.
    9085 L Future dev.
    9086 L Future dev.

Correct information can be found at
    $aleph_root/error_lng/www_f_heading:
9084 L Waiting in position $1 in queue
    9085 L <br>The due date is $1.
9086 L <br>The due date is $1, after recall it will be set to $2.<br>Note that the recall will be performed at a later time.

    A. Remove the wrong information from the local file $alephe_root/error_lng/www_f_heading
    B. Adapt the local file accordingly.

    Additional Information

In general it is recommended not to copy general files such as www_f_heading to the local directory in order to avoid wrong display information. After each Service Pack you will have to check and adapt the local file.

Note: it is possible to maintain only a partial file www_f_heading in $alephe_root/error_lng containing only those messages that differ from the default.

The system reads the messages in the following order

    $alephe_root/error_lng/
    1. <specific file>
    2. www_f_heading

    $aleph_root/error_lng
    3. <specific file>
    4. www_f_heading
