    Description:
When attempting to load patron records into abc50 with the home library of NABCD, the PLIF returns the following error message:

tab100 does not allow record updating (USER-IDS-PERMISSION or USER-HOME-PERMISSION)

Please advise how to correct this to allow for loading patron records with this home library.

    Resolution:
KB 8578 (v16 rep_change 741) describes the use of the USER-xxx-PERMISSION parameters to restrict updating of patron records based on the Z303-HOME-LIBRARY value.

If it's your intention to restrict the updating by p_file_20 based on Z303-HOME-LIBRARY, then please consult KB 8578.

*Otherwise*, you need to have the following settings in order to prevent such error messages from occurring:

    In the $alephe_tab/tab100 set

    USER-HOME-PERMISSION=N

In the local xxx50 library tab100 set

    USER-PERMISSION=0
    USER-IDS-PERMISSION=0
    USER-ADDR-PERMISSION=0

Note: "0" is the default value for these parameters, so omitting them is fine -- as long as you don't have non-zero values for them in the $alephe_tab/tab100. If the parameters are omitted from the local xxx50 library tab100, then they should also be omitted from the $alephe_tab/tab100 -- or included with values of "0".
