    p_manage_102 makes Browse index unusable

    Description:
We find that after running p_manage_102, the Browse index is unusable. I assume that p_manage_02 also needs to be run....

Is the Browse index usable after running p_manage_02 or will p_manage_17, p_manage_32, and p_manage_35 need to be run to make it usable?

    Resolution:
p_manage_102 copies the headings from the Authority library into the bib Z01. It is p_manage_02 which creates the Z02 records establishing the link between the headings and the bib records (and writes Z01s for bib headings which have no corresponding authority record). Thus, the index will *not* be usable until p_manage_02 is run.

p_manage_17 alphabetizes the long headings -- users can live without this for several days.

p_manage_32 generates the Z0102 logical base records which speed up retrieval of Browse headings in small bases -- but, if you specify "N" for the base in tab_base.eng, you don't need the Z0102.

p_manage_35 generates the Browse index "Brief Records", sub-arranging the titles for prolific authors -- also not a necessity.

    Additional Information

    p_manage_102, browse, p_manage_02, long heaings, p_manage_32, p_manage_35,
