    tab_subfield_punctuation not being used

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
When we try to fix a records punctuation or save a record (which is supposed to automatically fix the punctuation), the punctuation isn't changing.

    Resolution:
In order for the tab_subfield_punctuation to be used, the field must be linked to an authority record.

I find that, though the ABC01 Z01 ACC heading for
    UTIL-F-4 z01
    key 1
SUB LPORTER KATHERINE ANNE 1890 1980
is linked to an authority record (as seen in the z01_rec_key_4 Z01-AUT-LIBRARY and Z01-AUT-DOC-NUMBER), the Z01
SUB LPORTER KATHERINE ANNE 1890 1980 CRITICISM A...
    is not.

This has to do with the SUB lines in tab20. I see that, though the
    SUL SUB ...
    lines are present, the
    SUB SUB ...
    lines are commented out.

Since, as determined by tab11_ACC, the index which is being used for these 600's is the SUB index, the SUB SUB lines need to be present in tab20.

You should correct these and then resend a few records to the server to verify (in UTIL-F-4, as shown above) that the z01_rec_key_4 Z01-AUT-LIBRARY and Z01-AUT-DOC-NUMBER are correctly populated. If so, you can do a "complete ue_08" (-- by specifying the "N" mode in starting it, rather than the usual "C"--).
