ue_01: "Execution error .../get_aut_doc_number_a.gnt' on particular bib

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description
ue_01 is hanging, below is the error message. I've looked at some of the KB items but am not seeing anything related to get_aut_doc_number_a.gnt. We are also in the process of updating authorities which is probably related.

    Resolution:

Diagnostics show the error occurring when get_aut_doc_number_a calls io_buf_docx_code for the 008 tag. The problem does *not* occur on the following doc# (89391). Do you know of others where it does occur?

Note: the z07 for 89390 was deleted, so the abc01 ue_01 is running again.

[From site:] No luck. We even added a duplicate record from OCLC without any holdings and it also crashed.

[From site:] we began investigating why the uniform title would have caused a problem. When we browsed the Aleph authority library "all headings" index we found these two name/title headings represented in the list of authority headings but without any authority record linkages. See page 1 of attachment.

We then located the corresponding authority record in OCLC and tried to export it into the test server ABC10 library.

The OCLC export host message indicated that a matching record was found in the ABC10 library (919657) but that it could not be read. The export/overlay failed.

We're wondering if ABC10 record #919657 is corrupted (maybe it has a bad 008 field?) Is there any way we can delete this authority record?

[Staff, See additional internal note from Jerry below.]

    [From site:]

Things have been indexing well for two days.
