    wow index with errors

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 19.01

    Description:
Searching abc60 using "wow=public" returned four hits.

    005448255ABC60
    005448343ABC60
    005489500ABC60
    005634846ABC60

All of them show the OWN= either HA or SM

The first record shows in the history that it has not been edited since it was imported from OCLC over a year ago.

I saved the first record to the server, and that corrected the index for that one. I have not touched the other three.

The question remains, what made the index goofy in the first place?

    Resolution:
It seems you re-sent abc60# 005448255 to the server, so it no longer appears in WOW public.

The WOW is Word index 004:

    H WOW W-004 00 00 Own code

And util f/4 for the fcl60 z97 shows that "public" is word# 000027078:

    -public -000027078-000027078

Looking with util f/4 at the "word3", I saw that there were three abc60 records for WOW public:

enter file name (or q to exit) word3
    new key = K, exit = Q, continue = RETURN
    k
    enter start position nnnnnnnnnnnn
    004000027078

    Rec key = 004000027078 Number of items = 000000003
    Doc number = 005448343
    Doc number = 005489500
    Doc number = 005634846

I then did util f/1/13 for hol# 005448343 (resending the doc to the server). After which, it no longers appears in the WOW public:

    Rec key = 004000027078 Number of items = 000000002
    Doc number = 005489500
    Doc number = 005634846

If you resend 005489500 and 005634846 to the server, they will also be reindexed and not included in the WOW public.

As to why this happened,... Since it's no longer happening that would be difficult to determine. All I can say is that, if you see it happening again (with "Public" or ??), let us know and we can re-open this issue.
