www_server: illegal term ... aleph_ccl_expr_check_tree_c -illegal expr *CAUSE*
- Article Type: General
- Product: Aleph
- Product Version: 18.01
Description:
We see the following messages in the pc_server / www_server log:
illegal term
aleph_ccl_expr_check_tree_c - illegal expr
aleph_ccl_expr_check_tree_c failed
aleph_ccl_expr_build_normal_tree_c failed
ccl_expr_normalize_c failed
Why? Do they indicate a problem?
Resolution:
These messages occur when a keyword search results in an "Error parsing find request" message to the user.
If the message is the result of an incorrect command entered in a CCL/Command search, then there is no problem. But if the error occurs in response to a system-defined Word search, that's a problem. If you see hundreds of these messages, that is probably the case.
If so, check the " request: "/F line in the www_server log (above the aleph_ccl_expr messages) for two things:
1) the "&find_code=" value -- make sure that it's in tab00.eng; and
2) the "&local_base=" value. Check the "Find command" in column 9 in tab_base.eng for this base. Paste the command into a CCL search to make sure that it works correctly. In one case the U-ABC30 base had "wst=(deleted or suppressed)" but there was no wst index in ABC30.
