    Question

Testing an "Update Inventory" import profile in order to update portfolios - portfolios are skipped with the error "portfolios skipped (profile not allowing)". Why doesn't the profile update the portfolios?

    Answer

There isn't a match between the portfolio type definition in the import profile, and the actual portfolios type. Update Inventory will show this error in these conditions:

    - If the existing portfolio is a standalone portfolio and the Update Inventory profile is configured with the option Part of an electronic collection (in the Inventory Information tab).
    - If the existing portfolio is part of an electronic collection and the Update Inventory profile is configured with the option Standalone (in the Inventory Information tab).

Note: When Part of an electronic collection is selected and the profile is run on portfolios linked to that collection, new portfolios could be added to that collection and PO line.

Other tips mentioned in: "Update Inventory" doesn't update item barcodes, proxy information, etc.
