Description 

In Analytics, the LC Classification code is Unknown, even though a call number is cataloged in Alma.

Resolution 

If the call number is not recognized by the Library of Congress, it is displayed as Unknown. The Analytics LC Classification follows the Library of Congress Classification Outline, found here: https://www.loc.gov/aba/cataloging/c...fication/lcco/ 

If the call number is recognized by the Library of Congress, but is still displaying as Unknown, it is most likely missing mapping in Analytics. In this case please reach out to the ExLibris Support team to request the addition of the missing classification code. 

Call numbers can also display as Unknown if the formatting is incorrect. For example, if the call number is cataloged with a space between the classification code and number (e.g., PR 830 instead of PR830), the classification will not be recognized and will display as Unknown.
