Configure Links from WorldCat to Alma/Primo Catalog Records
- Product: Alma
Question
What URLs do I use for the Online Catalog Direct to ISBN and Online Catalog Direct to ISSN configuration in WorldCat?
Answer
You can begin on the advanced search screen in Primo and perform an ISBN or ISSN search with known values, then use the resulting URLs as a starting point. WorldCat wants the standard number at the end of the URL, so you can rearrange the parameter and value list (separated by the ampersand symbol) as needed. Your final URLs will be similar to below, with your institution codes inserted for the bolded values. Perform a sample advanced search to determine these values.
ISBN: https://abc.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?tab=Everything&search_scope=SEARCH_SCOPE_NAME&vid=VIEW_ID&lang=en&mode=advanced&offset=0&query=isbn,contains,
ISSN: https://abc.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?tab=Everything&search_scope=SEARCH_SCOPE_NAME&vid=VIEW_ID&lang=en&mode=advanced&offset=0&query=issn,contains,
OCLC Number: https://abc.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo-explore/search?tab=Everything&search_scope=SEARCH_SCOPE_NAME&vid=VIEW_ID&query=any,contains,
See WorldCat's documentation page for more information.
