When attempting to renew items for the patron using Manage Patron Services the following error occurred: “General Error–Cannot Loan or return the item. Please contact the system administrator.” Why does this happen?
This is an issue related to migration and happens when an item was marked with the incorrect item policy prior to migrating to Alma
To resolve this:
-Go into the item record and correct the policy
-Then renew, loan, or return the item
