Normalization rules in publishing profiles

Question

Some publishing profiles include the option to add a normalization rule in the "data enrichment" tab. Will these normalization rules only change the published data and leave the records in the database as is - or will they also change our records in the database?

Answer

In all publishing profiles the normalization will only affect the published records but not the records in the database.
