    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Alma

    Problem Symptoms:
An All Titles search gives an incorrect count for journals, in the Material Type facet (the correct number is much smaller)
Exact count is needed, for example, for ARL Reports

    Cause:
The Repository search gives only an approximate count

    Resolution:
To get the exact numbers use any of these options:
    * Use an Analytics report to get the count (e.g. "Item Count by Material Type", under: Alma > Inventory > Reports)
    * Run a Job of type "Export" the set and review the results externally (e.g. with MarcEdit)

    Additional Information

For reporting requirements please rely upon the report from Analytics rather than the Repository Search results or excel export within Alma.
