Resource Sharing Partner records in IZ are missing the "Shared barcodes" field, although this field is present in the NZ

    Question

At consortium XYZ, the resource sharing partner records are managed in the NZ and shared with the member institutions via the "Distribute RS Network Configuration" job. The job completed successfully, but at member institution X some partner records are missing the "Shared barcodes" field, although this field is present in the NZ. What is the explanation for this?

    Answer

All the partners where the "Shared barcodes" parameter is missing belong to the member institution X (the Institution Code can be seen on the partner record, "General Information" tab, at the bottom right, field "Institution Code").

The IZ institution always removes the Shared Barcodes attribute from partners that represent itself.
This parameter is not relevant for partners that are within the same institution, because it will cause barcode duplication. If library is sending an item with barcod BAR_A to library B of the same institution, the temporary item cannot be also barcoded BAR_A, because it is in the same institution.

These six partners are not in the institution's rota template anyway, because a partner within the same institution is expected to be managed via hold requests.
