Resource Sharing - January 2018 Enhancements

Status Queries for Borrowing and Lending Requests

The Status Query row action was added to the borrowing and lending request task lists to send a status query to the borrowing or lending institution using an ISO message. The action is visible only for a request whose active partner is using the ISO protocol.

Sending a status query from either the borrower or the lender, triggers an automatic status report from the peer partner (borrower or lender). The partner's response reports the current status of the request at the peer partner, and the last message that was received for the request. The report is visible as a note in the Notes tab. The note is also able to be faceted as an active note, until it is dismissed.
An audit record and active note are created for the request when the query is sent and when the response is received. See Managing Resource Sharing Borrowing Requests and Managing Resource Sharing Lending Requests.

    Additional Resource Sharing Enhancements

    • Items will now go directly to the hold shelf when receiving an item from the Borrowing Requests task list or from Receiving Items interface, even if the circulation desk supports hold shelf processing. When receiving items from the Scan In interface, the destination is defined based on the Place directly on hold shelf field selection.
