(URM-317892) Improved Handling of Related Records
Catalogers and fulfillment teams can now gain better control over record relationships, reducing unintended request propagation and ensuring more accurate fulfillment for multi-volume and series records. When configured, an optional mode is now available to refine how relationships between records are classified. This ensures that connections between multi-volume works and series are handled more accurately, preventing incorrect request propagation and improving fulfillment processes. The current behavior remains the default.
The online help page should provide detailed information comparing the out-of-the-box configuration with the newly introduced optional mode. It should explain how relationships between records are determined in each mode and outline the functional differences that impact workflows.
Current behavior (default): ‘CONTAINS’ relation is set for records with fields 773, 774, 800, 810, 811, 830.
New behavior (optional): ‘RELATION’ relation is set for records with 773 (if 2nd indicator = 8), 800, 810, 811, 830. ‘CONTAINS’ will remain for 773 (if 2nd indicator ≠ 8), 774.
Note: 800, 810, 811, 830 linking via control number ($w → 035), MMS ID ($w → MMS ID), or ISSN ($x). This change can only be applied by Ex Libris Support upon customer request. Customers should be informed that implementing this change requires reindexing the repository data, which will impact the runtime of the nightly relations job.
For more information, see OLH.
(URM-319471, URM-318578) Storage Location ID Can Now Be Managed as a Closed List
A new option is now available to manage the Storage Location ID field as a controlled list on the physical item. Enabling this feature also provides a configuration screen for maintaining the vocabulary entries. This enhancement is particularly beneficial for libraries that work with remote storage facilities and maintain a large number of Storage Location ID entries on their physical items in Alma.
- Contact Support to enable this feature.
- This capability is available for up to 100,000 storage IDs.
- The <More...> indicator is for informational purposes only and will be updated in a later release when the Item page moves to the NG layout.

For more information, see Storage Location ID.
(URM-319073) Update MARC21 Bibliographic Resource Types FOR MAY??
Idea Exchange URM-XXXXXXThis update enhances the Alma MARC21-Based Resource Type classification to improve the accuracy, coverage, and usability of bibliographic resources. Alma determines the resource type automatically based on metadata fields, enabling more precise filtering and reporting. The enhancement introduces additional resource types that were previously unavailable, enriching the classification system.
Impact: Users will benefit from more granular and accurate resource type categorization in Alma, improving search facets, analytics reporting, and overall system functionality.
FOR OLH:
You can filter by the new facet for Archieved Materials (Yes/No)
The Advanced Search now contains the index Archieved Materials (Yes/No), which can also be used to create sets, and thereby, records can be filtered as part of a set when applying the Archieved Materials facet.
In order for the filter to apply to existing types, the data must be re-indexed. The next re-indexing is scheduled for the end of June 2026.

(URM-239313) Relations for BIBFRAME from the LOD Editor
Alma LOD Editor supports BIBFRAME relations that contain the following structure
(URM-236917) HEADING
Alma now supports easy navigation between different record views for each user to find the view that is most suited for them.
Also we are introducing a new condensed display for BIBFRAME records into a table view, supporting the option to view as much metadata as possible within a section and using the familiar display known to catalogers from MARC formats.
