(URM-23520) 'Not Needed After' Date can be Mandatory on Patron Physical Request form
Idea ExchangeURM-23520- Move to April sprint (change to URM-322733)
- Shoshana to let me know when this is ready to look at in Alma per mail "(URM-23520) 'Not Needed After' Date is Mandatory on Patron Physical Request form"
- Review if the following pages are relevant and add to For more information below:

- Requests in Alma - Ex Libris Knowledge Center (This helps you understand the stages of creating a request, which TOU affect)
- On the FSD reviewed up to "Using the Policy". Continue after that.
- Send Libby the FSD with emphasis on the Primo/Primo VE section at the end and ask her to send a link when its done so can link to the information from Alma.
- FSD: URM-23520 Request Policy for 'Last Interest Period' - EXL - URM - Clarivate Wiki
- AT with Shoshana on 20 January
When creating a request, if the new MANDATORY_LAST_NEEDED_DATE_REQUEST parameter (Configuration > Fulfillment > General > Other Settings) is set to true, the Date Needed By field (which expires the request upon arrival) becomes a mandatory field.

In addition, a new optional policy was added to the request Terms of Use. This automatically fills in a default date in the Date Needed By field. This policy is controlled by the Request Last Interest Period field. When turned on, the Date Needed By field is auto-populated by the default value configured in the policy. This can be overridden when editing the request form.
- TBD - update the image below with one from the software after Shoshana replies to say where to find this in Alma

- Existing TOUs will default to a policy with a value of 'none'.
- All values consider calendar days, including closed periods.
