Summon: Including Abstracting and Indexing Databases

    • Product: Summon

What abstracting and indexing (A&I) databases are covered in the Summon service?

The Summon service currently provides the following A&I resources in the Summon Index:
We recognize that this list has nopt been updated since 2014 and may not be a complete list. We are making progress on automated coverage reports that can provide timely, accurate analyses.  In the meantime, if you add your A&I resources to your Client Center or Intota profile, you ensure that all indexed content in Summon displays.
By tracking A&I databases in the Client Center or Intota, you ensure that "citation online" records are available to your patrons in Summon search results even if full text is not available from the collection. Read more about how A&I work in Summon here.
If you do not want Citation Online results to display alongside full-text online items in the default results set, the Exclude Citation Online setting in the Summon Administration Console General section provides the option to take advantage of the rich content in their A&I resources yet limit display to only those items that exist in full text at your library. Records for such items will show the "online" starburst icon. Items not available in full text at your library are hidden from the results set when the Exclude Citation Online setting is ON. These items are displayed when a user expands results using the "Add results beyond your library's collection" filter.
Authenticated Web of Science and Scopus users will also see citation counts displayed in Summon records.
