Can we transfer our 360 MARC Updates records into the Summon service?
Some libraries choose to have ProQuest upload the library's 360 MARC Updates records directly into the Summon service, rather than having ProQuest send the library the records and then the library sends back their ILS exports for ProQuest to load into Summon.
This is especially common for libraries that don't load the 360 MARC Updates records into their OPAC; but even some clients who do load them in their OPAC want us to also load the records into Summon.
To have us perform this service, please use the Support Portal option feature and enter the following information:
Product: 360 MARC Updates

Question Summary: Deliver 360 MARC Updates Records Into Summon
Question Detail: [If you subscribe to the 360 MARC Update for both serials and monographs, let us know which of these record types you want delivered directly to Summon.] [Also indicate whether 360 MARC Updates records should be included in the "Items in the library catalog (mostly print and physical material)" search filter.]
When we receive your request, we will get back with you shortly to begin to set up this service.
If you opt for ProQuest delivering 360 MARC Update records directly into Summon, remember to exclude these records from the catalog files (full loads and updates) you export and FTP to ProQuest for inclusion in the Summon index. There is no other way to prevent both sets of records (360 MARC Update records and records from your catalog) from displaying in Summon.
If you have already submitted 360 MARC Update records from your catalog for inclusion in the Summon index, you will need to either send delete records for these items or start with a new, full load to avoid having multiple full text links per item caused by duplicate records.
