    Question

When closing record hierarchy window, there is no change in behavior whether "Retain hierarchy selections" is checked or unchecked in Preferences. What does "Retain hierarchy selections" do?

    Answer

In Voyager 9.2.0 and higher, the record hierarchy window selections are retained while the window is open.

If "Retain hierarchy selections" is unchecked, you'll notice that the selections are removed after retrieving records. When "Retain hierarchy selections" is checked, the selections are retained after retrieving records.
