    Problem symptoms

    When the following configured:

    • SysAdmin > Circulation > Policy Definitions > {Policy} > Locations > Settings > Alerts > advanced_booking_warning is selected
    • SysAdmin > Circulation > Policy Definitions > {Policy} > Short Loan Matrix > Advanced Loan Warning Period populated
    • Booking with item type/patron group from matrix created

and the item is discharged, alert not shown.

    Cause

    This behavior is by design.

    Resolution

The setting that controls Advanced Booking Warning applies to an active charge transaction - that is, the alert displays on discharge when it is discharged from a transaction where the item type/patron group from matrix indicates the advanced loan warning period should be used, rather than the item type/patron group for the upcoming booking.
