    Question

I want to export changed bibs and mfhds to update records in our third party discovery service. If a holdings (MFHD) record changed and the bibliographic (bib) record did not, would MarcExport identify the MFHD change and export the record?

    Answer

If you are exporting bib-MFHD groups (-rG), then the bib's update and/or create date is what MarcExport will check a specified date range against.

If you want MarcExport to check the date range against the MFHD's create or update date, you would need to export MFHDs separately (-rH). When MarcExport writes the MFHDs to the record file, it embeds the MFHD ID and bib ID in the record. This may be useful for matching MFHDs from the file to existing MFHDs in your discovery layer in order to update them.
