    Question

One vendor sends a service charge in EDI messages with the code ALC+C++++DL::28 which is similar to an existing code in our database (ALC+C++++DL) except for the ::28 appended to it. Is the ::28 necessary or does Voyager just ignore it?

    Answer

The ::28 refers to a set of EDI codes that can be implemented if a site chooses to use them. Voyager has never used the code and just displays whatever is sent in that segment. It can be left in place or removed - whatever works best locally.
