    Question

For an upgrade, when do I need to do a backup?

    Answer

Locally hosted sites need to do a full, cold, verified backup of your Voyager system the night before your upgrade and immediately after the upgrade.

A full, cold backup allows for a safe, point-in-time recovery in the event of a disaster - natural or otherwise.

    Additional Information

Sites with servers hosted by Ex Libris do not need to worry about this requirement. Backups are taken care of by Cloud services.
