    GDC: unable to sort record result list using Sort By feature

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.2.2

    Problem Symptoms:
    ? In GDC > Record Sets > Search, Record results can only be sorted via Quick Sort options; other sort options trigger error messages and remove all records from results list
    ? Sorting records via the Voyager-aware Re-Sort options for Title, Author, Publish Date, and Publish Date Descending result in the following error messages:
    "Server request not found: SORT_RESET"
    "The search failed."
    ? All records disappear from the list of search results

    Cause:
    This behavior is a result of Issue VYG-5132.

    Resolution:
    Issue VYG-5132 is resolved for Voyager 9.1.0 and higher.

    Additional Information

    Replication Steps
    1. Ensure the Staff Client Re-sort feature is enabled by setting the following parameters in the [GlobalLog] stanza of the Voyager.ini file:
    ServerSortList=Y
    ASCIISortList=Y
    ASCIISortColumn=Y
    2. In GDC, go to Record Sets > Search
    3. Enter search term to conduct a bib search (example: left-anchored title search); click Do Search
    4. When list of results appear, attempt to sort records clicking the drop-down menu of the Sort By feature. Note the Title (Quick Sort), Author (Quick Sort), and Date (Quick Sort) options sort correctly, but the Voyager-aware Re-Sort options for Title, Author, Publish Date, and Publish Date Descending do not sort correctly.
    5. When a Voyager-aware Re-sort option is applied to list of search results, the following errors appear:
    "Server request not found: SORT_RESET"
    "The search failed."
    6. All records disappear from the list of search results.
