    Problem Symptoms

    • Authority records confusing when normalized without punctuation
    • Heading with only birth (Name, 1910-) or only death (Name, -1910) date can result in same normalized heading (NAME 1910)

    Cause

    Works as designed.

    Resolution

    Behavior by design - Voyager removes punctuation as part of its normalization routines.
